TRADITION MEETS CULTURAL ENJOYMENT

The Passion Play House Erl is one of the most eye-catching buildings in Kufsteinerland. Built in 1959, it originally served exclusively as a stage for the Erl Passion Plays, which take place every six years and look back on over 400 years of tradition.

Since 1989, however, the Passion Play House has developed into a cultural center. In addition to the Passion Plays, the renowned Tiroler Festspiele Erl take place here. The concert hall can accommodate up to 1,500 visitors, who can not only experience top-class cultural events, but also enjoy the unique acoustics of the house.

Free guided tours are available for anyone who would like to find out more about the Passion Play House. These provide exciting insights behind the scenes of the impressive building — from the architecture and technology to the preparations for the performances. Guided tours last around an hour and are available before or after the Passion Play shows or by appointment. Advance booking is required.
